Tomorrowland & Dreamville

Day 8, 9, 10, 11 & 12

The anticipated three day music affair, Tomorrowland in the small town called Boom in Belgium has arrived. I come from Australia and the music festivals back home cannot be compared to this. I opted for the camping experience rather than the comfort experience I usually get at home. I  have never camped before and was very unease in doing so. Thankfully I met this lovely girl, Tricia from California. She was my tent & festival buddy. She caught me by surprise, she was the best buddy any girl could wish for. We shared the same type of energy, music, love & attitude. We shared Belgium waffles every morning and munched on snacks before bed every night.

The Journey to Dreamville

It was time. It was my turn at the Tomorrowland stand at St Pancras Station (London). Adrenalin running high with a sunken heart and all I could hear in my head was 'WHAT IF MY NAME WASN'T THERE". After all I did purchase this  package off a third part. YESSSSSSS as I scream to myself in my head, they found my name. From that moment forward all I wanted was to scream out loud. The train from London to Brussels took about 2 hours followed by a 30 minutes bus ride to Boom. Max and I popped open a bottle of our beloved beverages and raged all the way to the camping site.
The camping site was chaotic and I was beginning to doubt the possibility in finding my tent buddy. Thankfully within a few minutes of stepping into the site we were reunited. YAY! People from all over the world flock over to this site early to bag the best spot. We were left far back but that didn't kill our spirits. I am so grateful to have Tricia set up the tent within 2 minutes. For a moment she made me think 'What would I do without her?'.
After we settled ourselves in we roamed the camping site, the pre-Tomorrowland party was in the middle of its happening with local Belgium DJs spinning it out. There were countless food stalls and drinks stalls around and of course I found my morning coffee stall. We chilled at the pre=party for a few hours before we headed to the free wifi zone, where there was all free carnival games, laundry service, phone charging service and make up touch. Before we knew it we were there for a few hours making it time to see Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike to close the nigh with the 2013 Tomorrowland Anthem.

Day 1

We are excited as hell! No time wasted, we showered and ready ourselves. We had plans to take it easy on the first day to savour our energy for the next three days. The walk from Dreamville to Tomorrowland could take up to 30 minutes each way. The crowd was huge once we arrived at the entrance. Dominated by more males, us females made it into the grounds quicker thanks to the different sex queues to get in.
We were in and pumped. No stopping or being easy anymore, we trekked to the main stage. WOW!!! seriously WOW!! Speechless. The aminstage was ten times or even more bigger than what I see back home. There was even waterfalls on the stage. How is this even possible??The stage was placed down a large hill where anywhere you stand there was always a sight full of the stage. There was no messing about. It was 1:30pm and there was no time for sitting. Just DANCE!
We were in a dream where time was no longer a concern. Losing track of time we missed the serious meet up of the Tomorrowland Travel Buddies. OOPS! Never the less, we continued our trance. We spent the whole day at the main stage with music from Nervo, Otto Knows, Fedde Le Grande, Hardwell, Sebastian Ingrosso, Tiesto and closing it out with Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike.
It was today that Tricia and I discover each others's hyperactive energy. Did I mention we were sober all the way too? It was unbelievable. By night fall the main stage was filled with people from all over the world, waving ptroudly their national flag. The atmosphere was indescribable. it was full of ENGERY & LOVE!

Day 2

We don't know how we did it but we managed to pull through a ten hour sleep despite all the chanting back at Dreamville. Once again we showered and ready ourselves for round 2. This time we met up with a few fellow travel buddies. What else to do but again DANCE our way from dawn to dark. Today was a little special, the love of my life was playing aka AVICII. To start the day off Zedd played my favourite song, Clarity. Heart was so warm.
We had a few hours spare before hitting the main stage again, so we decided to roam the whole festival. OMG! There was stages after stages. It was all hidden behind the massive main stage. It felt like we were in a wonderland of some sort, a land we never wanted to get out of. We wandered back to the main stage to catch the end of Axwell and find the perfect spot for AVICII. BANG! Avicii is on. Tricia & I raved hard throughout the whole set. AVICII screams non stop out of my mouth. It's been a long time that he has lived up to my expectation. One of the best sets ever. The rain came slowly and disappeared many times. It was like a teaser before I knew it, it was over and of court he finishes up with Wake Me Up! The anthem of my CalafatiTakesAYearOff.
As Armin stepped on stage and announced the birth of his child today. The heavy rain came. Tricia could not decide whether or not to continue partying through the rain. NO! it got heavier and heavier and we called it quits. Struggling our way through the 60 thousand people to our locker for shelter. There was so much pushing and shoving. We were lucky to have warm clothes, rain boots and ponchos in our locker. We managed our way back to Dreamville and Thankfully our tent was water proof. I felt sorry for the people who had their tents covered in mud. The rain stopped and we called it a night.

Day 3

It was the final day of Tomorrowland and regardless what the weather was like we plan to make it through the end. It was bitter sweet. The thought of it ending today was depressing. WE NEVER WANNA GO HOME!!! It was main stage all day with an appearance at the Kaskade set. Tricia and I managed to squeeze ourselves into the front. She could not believe it was happening, feeling so excited inside. Somehow we found ourselves in the Kaskade short video. How embarrassing! LOL.
We ended the night raving & jumping hard with Dan, Nate & Nat. It was perfect. Thumbing through a has up with David Guetta, Nicky Romero & Afrojack. All three knew how to rock the crowd. We wasted no time and made sure our feet didn't stop for a second. It was too overwhelming that apparently Dan cried hard behind his mask. AWWW, what a puppy dawn! BAHAHHAHA! NOOO! Time flies when you are having so much fun. It was time for Steve Aoki's set. The closing set of Tomorrowland 2013. Whyyyyyyyyyy must this be?! we headed up the mouton to make sure we had all sights of the stage. The lasers were mental, the fireworks were mesmerising and the crowd going hard at it. Over 270 countries' flag waved hard everywhere. As per usual, we raved & jumped a lit tie harder this time. we used everything that was left inside us. I could not have asked for any better people to close Tomorrowland with. Thank You to all.
Before we knew it, it was the end. With the attitude of never wanting to leave we sat down and refused to move and watched the crowd slowly dissaper. It was another indescribable experience watching 60 thousand odd people sadly leave the grounds. We sat for at least another hour before we bid each other goodbye. It was really the end. We didn't want to say goodbye and no time machine could even take us back to the first hour. We hurdled together and gave each other a group hug.
The trek back to the camping site was so loud, nobody wanted to call it suits. Thousands chanting and breaking fences all the way back to the site. It was 4am and we decided to call it a night.

The Morning After

Morning Rise! It is time to shower and pack up. Thousands of people were on their way out. Before I knew it. I was bidding my tent buddy goodbye. It wasn't easy but it had to be done. Thank You Tricia for an amazing 4 days. I would have not had this experience without you. So much love to you! I will be coming to the USA to find you. This morning I will be travelling to London to pick up my luggage. Guess where I was off? Post-Tomorrowland party in IBIZA!!

Stay tuned for more.
